Composed by Gerald W. Gabbard. 21st Century. Score. 4 pages. Gerald W. Gabbard #1085773. Published by Gerald W. Gabbard (A0.1510573).I composed this etude near the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in early summer 2020 when we were all at home on lockdown. I'm not sure if the doom and gloom of the unknowns surrounding the disease, prior to vaccinations being available, influenced the dark mood of this piece or not. I also tend to like minor sounds and I am an emotionally sensitive person.
This piece is for advanced solo piano and includes technical aspects such as arpeggios, scales, large leaps with chords, increasing speed from 16th note to 32nd note runs, and an elongated melody over the chord progressions and arpeggiation. I hope you enjoy this piece!
