Composed by Van Denman Thompson. Arranged by Bruce Berg. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Romantic Period. 26 pages. BDB Publishing #1085686. Published by BDB Publishing (A0.1510500).A relatively short Violin Sonata (11 min.) composed in 1939 by a well known and widely published American composer of the first half of the 20th century. Dr. Thompson was commisioned to compose an oratorio for the 150 anniversary of the Methodist church, an organ method and many liturgical choral works. It was written for his daughter and is written in a romantic, American style. The difficulty level is moderately easy making it a good choice for a student on the Suzuki 8 level, or for a short opening recital work. The Sonata was unpublished commercially until 2024.
