It inspired the 1968 animated film Yellow Submarine and appeared as the opening track on the relevant soundtrack album.
In this "pop-lyphonic" version for SATB, Larry Nowelsohn treated the music material almost like a Renaissance villanelle, assigning the main melody line to Soprano, with the other voices providing for rhythmic, onomatopoeic and harmonic support, always respecting the original atmosphere and conception of the Beatles' evergreen.
